Where does your water come from?

More than 185,000 cubic meters of water are extracted daily to meet the increasing demand from existing and new subscribers. This is done through investing in approximately 153 wells and 28 springs.

How is the quality of water distributed by the establishment monitored?

Three laboratories of the establishment in Zahle, Baalbek and Chamsine work periodically and regularly to test water samples at all stages, especially the production and distribution stages.

The water extracted from the sources is treated and distributed to approximately 242 storage units. Before reaching subscribers, the water is distributed through 565 km of push and pull lines, which are operated and maintained by the establishment.

How is drinking water treated and distributed?

The quality of water distributed to the networks within the service area complies with international and national water quality standards.

The Bekaa Water Establishment invests in a major purification plant in Zahle where 8,000 cubic meters are treated and pumped daily into the city’s distribution networks. This is in addition to chlorination units distributed throughout the establishment to provide subscribers with clean, potable water.
